About the Authors
 

Christopher R. Mohr, PhD, RD

Dr. Mohr is a consultant, author, and freelance writer. He has been personally interested in training and nutrition since his early teens. As a competitive athlete, Dr. Mohr always tried to improve his performance through better training and nutrition. He later followed his personal interests into the classroom at Penn State, where he earned a bachelors of science in Human Nutrition. He next completed his dietetic internship at the University of Delaware, allowing him to sit for the national registration exam to become a Registered Dietitian. From there, Dr. Mohr attended the University of Massachusetts to pursue a masters of science in Nutrition Science.

While at UMASS, Dr. Mohr was a Sports Dietitian who worked with most of the 23 Division I teams at the University. This experience allowed him to counsel hundreds of varsity athletes and work with team coaches to enhance the performance of the players. Knowing the importance of physiology as it relates to sports nutrition, Dr. Mohr went on to pursue a PhD in Exercise Physiology at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Mohr is currently a consultant for the Discovery Health Channel and the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association. He has also worked with supplement companies to provide research and/or formulations for dietary supplements. He is on the Advisory Board for Men's Fitness and Fit Fuel, is the Nutrition Editor for OC FLAIR Magazine, and has also written nearly 500 articles for consumer publications, such as Men’s Fitness, Men’s Health, Muscle and Fitness, www.bodybuilding.com , www.leanbodycoach.com , and more. Dr. Mohr has also written or contributed to four textbooks that will be released in 2006.

   
   

Greg E. Bradley-Popovich, DPT, MS, CSCS

Dr. Bradley-Popovich holds dual master's degrees in Exercise Physiology and Human Nutrition from West Virginia University as well as a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) with honors from Creighton University.

Greg’s professional certifications include Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), Certified Exercise Instructor (IART), and certified sports nutritionist (ASEP).  In 2001, Greg received the top national honor for a graduating physical therapy scholar in being named a Mary McMillan Scholarship Award recipient by the American Physical Therapy Association.  For his scholarly approach to strengthening and conditioning, Greg has also been recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the International Association of Resistance Trainers and has been an invited speaker at state, regional, and national events.

As a freelance writer, he has authored over 50 popular articles on rehabilitation, exercise, nutrition, and dietary supplements in magazines such as Men's Health Muscle and Muscle and Fitness. Additionally, he has published several scholarly articles in a variety of peer-reviewed science and professional journals. Dr. Bradley-Popovich is a contributing author to the landmark text Sports Supplements.

Greg practices at NW Spine Management and Sports Injury Management in Portland, Oregon where he is Director of Physical Therapy and Director of Clinical Research.
